Throughout the season
Throughout the season, members can take part in several club competitions.
Selected events on the Mackay Road Runners calendar are designated as Club Championship races. Members earn points based on eligible race performances throughout the season.
Members can also compete against runners within their age category.
Handicap races give runners of different speeds the chance to compete more evenly. Instead of everyone starting together, runners are given different start times based on previous performances. The goal is simple: bring everyone closer together at the finish.
Championship points stay hidden during the official running season. Winners are announced at presentation night.
Age grading helps runners compare performances across different age groups. Rather than looking only at finish time, age grading considers age when measuring the performance. It’s another way for members to track progress and compare results across the club.
Client review: current championship rules and the age-grading system used are awaiting confirmation.
